Director Luc Besson’s (The Professional) outrageous, high-octane sci-fi extravaganza incorporates ancient curses, all-powerful monsters, shape-changing assassins, laser battles, explosions, a perfect heroine and a malcontent hero – what more can you ask for? Sat 4/16th 4pm & Sun 4/17th 3:15pm: Jimmy Stewart and Jake Gyllenhaal both wrestle with the fact that they both see giant, human sized bunnies in what might be the most imaginative Easter Sunday Double Feature pairing ever. Sat 4/16th 7:15pm & Sun 4/17th 6:15pm: Long before he would make SPIDER-MAN, Sam Raimi was rebuffed in his efforts to adapt both Batman and The Shadow to film, so he opted to create his own superhero, and it’s a hell of an underrated movie. Sat 4/16th 7pm: One of the most influential artists of the slate 20th century, H.R Giger’s work became the conceptual guiding light for countless movies including Alien.
