Fri 8/27 & 8/28: It’s a madhouse! Get set to go ape with the entire classic PLANET OF THE APES series on the big screen in 35mm spread across two nights. On Friday catch PLANET OF THE APES (1968) + BENEATH THE PLANET OF THE APES (1970), followed by ESCAPE FROM THE PLANET OF THE APES (1971) + CONQUEST OF THE PLANET OF THE APES (1972) + BATTLE FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES (1973) on Saturday. Fri 5/27 9:30pm: An infamous Australian classic, WELCOME TO WOOP-WOOP (1997) was Stephan Elliot’s (Priscilla Queen Of The Desert) disastrous flop follow up that has been regarded as one of the worst movies to come out of the country, naturally making it a local cult classic! Fri 8/27 9pm: DARK SIDE OF OZ returns to THE TEXAS THEATER. Back by Popular request in 5.1 surround! THE WIZARD OF OZ special Dark Side of Oz edition with Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon acting a Synchronous soundtrack to the classic 1939 film. Original 1939 version screens on Sun. 8/29 at 5pm. Fri 8/27 & Sat 8/28: Ridley Scott’s sci-fi noir classic returns to the big screen where it belong with BLADE RUNNER: THE FINAL CUT (1982 / 2007) at Marylands’s AFI SILVER. More info HERE.

Sat 8/28 4pm: MR. HULOT”S HOLIDAY (1953 / 35mm Print) is the delightfully funny French classic from Jaques Tati, screening at THE AERO THEATER x AMERICAN CINEMATHEQUE in Santa Monica. More info HERE.

Sat 8/28 3pm: Clare Denis’ BEAU TRAVAIL (1999), a flow of hypnotic images that ultimately explode in one of the most startling and unforgettable endings in all of modern cinema, screens at NYC’s ROXY CINEMA. More info HERE.

Sat 8/28 2:45pm: Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman star in the masterwork tale of the scandal that brought down the Nixon Presdiency in ALL THE PRESIDENT’S MEN (1976) screening at the PARIS THEATER in New York City. More info HERE.

Amongst the lineup is a midnight screening of MANHUNTER (1986 / 35mm Print) , the first adaptation of Thomas Harris’ Red Dragon (precursor to Silence of the Lambs, and the introduction of Hannibal Lector). Sat 8/28 4pm: The acclaimed holiday classic TOKYO GODFATHERS (2003), from master director Satoshi Kon (Paprika, Perfect Blue), returns in a brand-new restoration at San Francisco’s ROXIE CINEMA. Co-written by Keiko Nobumoto (Cowboy Bebop). More info HERE.

Sat 8/28 9:30pm: Throw yourself into the world of the jack-of-all-trades Director John Carpenter via a marathon of classics at London’s PRINCE CHARLES CINEMA.
